For HP-UX the glib and gtk are available from: http://hpux.connect.org.uk/ http://hpux.asknet.de/ You will also have to install the depending libraries and programs including gcc. Xcdroast has been successfully tested for HP-UX 10.20 and HP-UX 11.0. There are two different audio implementations for the playback: 1) Using the audio server daemon of HP-UX: This implementation uses the Aserver daemon of HP-UX for playback. It enables to use the audio hardware over a network for a workstation or a X station. The audio server is set via the DISPLAY or AUDIO environment variable. Using the audio server requires the Audio Developers Kit of HP-UX. To set the volume, output device have a look at the man pages of audio, aserver, AudioCP and the pages they refer. The advantage of this implementation is a better buffering of the output stream. The additional compiler flag hpux_alib chooses this implementation. 2) Using the raw audio device: No Audio Developers Kit of HP-UX required. Gaps in the output stream if system is under load. Nothing more to say.
