This is useful if you want to compare two different scores or if you want to copy parts of one score to another score. To open a new window choose:</p><p> <span class="guimenu"><span class="accel">F</span>ile</span> → <span class="guimenuitem">New Window</span> </p><p>a new window appears:</p><div class="mediaobject"><img src="../docimages/new_window1.png" alt="A new window"></div><p>With the new window you can do all you could do with the first one. To do this choose:</p><p> <span class="guimenu"><span class="accel">F</span>ile</span> → <span class="guimenuitem">Excerpt ...</span> </p><p>The staff selection dialog appears:</p><div class="mediaobject"><img src="../docimages/staff_selection_dialog.png" alt="The staff selection dialog"></div><p>Select the subset of ataves, to be copied. To select more than 1 staff press Ctrl during selection. To select a range of staves press and hold Shift. Then select the first and the last staff of the range.</p><p>Press <strong class="userinput"><code>Ok</code></strong>!
