php-syslog-ng-2.9.8-3mdv2010.0.noarch.rpm

/ ** General Installation Issues **/

- MAKE SURE YOU SET YOUR PHP.INI file to these minimum specifications:
max_execution_time = 300 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 120 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 128M      ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)

- If you get: "Error in perform_query function: No DB link"
when accessing http://URL/install, then zero out your config.php file by doing:
echo " " > config/config.php
Make sure the files still exists and is writeable though or the installer won't work properly.

- If you see something similar to:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 10191457 bytes) in
  /www/install/install2.php on line 161
Then it means you haven't set your php_ini memory_limit parameter to >= 128M

- Note: If you see an error about a missing font, the be sure to install the MS ttf's (verdana.ttf).
In Ubuntu, just type "aptitude install msttcorefonts"
Other OS's, please read http://www.mail-archive.com/php-syslog-ng-support@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00126.html
- Please read more about JPGraph here:
 http://www.aditus.nu/jpgraph/pdf/jpgraphddda.pdf
Specifically, please note that it requires GD libs to run!

- If you get an error using the dbgen.pl script such as "send: Cannot determine peer address at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/Net/MySQL.pm" then use the MySQL.pm file located in the scripts directory (this is known bug for Net::MySql 0.09 and > Mysql 5.x)
Ref: http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=21462

- If you get an error like this:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting
T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /var/www/html/syslog/
includes/CEMDB.class.php on line 11
Then chances are your using PHP v4 which doesn't like the syntax on the CEMDB.class file.
You can get a v4 class file from:
http://code.google.com/p/php-syslog-ng/issues/detail?id=13
