apache-mod_vhs-1.0.32-9mdv2010.0.i586.rpm

mod_vhs doesn't support wildcard because libhome does it very well so there
is no need to add duplicate code in this module.

Here is some line to add under [mod_vhs] statments :

fallback ^(.*)\.(.*)\.(.*)$ $2.$3

This will support things like *.stuff.com if you have stuff.com in your
database/ldap sources.

NOTE:
Reports has said that sometimes regexp doesn't work as it should on mod_vhs
  and still work on home_finger.

Problem is mostly due to undefined and still looked problem between apache
regexp, libhome regexp and some library symbol that have being "rewritten"
  on apache.

To fix this problem the most recommended way is to use the proxy mode of
libhome (recent version of libhome does support that, if you don't have
support of proxy mode, then upgrade !!!!).

Quick howto use proxy mode with libhome :

  1- copy your home.conf to home_proxy.conf
2- in home.conf replace all database system and values and set the mode :
     mode proxy
3- in both files (home.conf and home_proxy.conf) add the line :
     proxy_socket /tmp/home_proxy.sock
(adapt the file to your system)
  4- Start home_proxy :
     /usr/local/sbin/home_proxy -C /usr/local/etc/home_proxy.conf
You maybe need to add -u <uid> -g <gid> if your apache has problems
     to access to proxy_socket file.

(This quick howto has been provided by Rémi Héluin that had wildcard problems
and give us this solution while we are looking inside libhome how to fix it).
