ALSA-Volume-Control-Plugin
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Description:
------------
This plugin controls selectable volume controls if your soundcard depending on
the volume control of VDR. It is also possible to select controls and switches
that can be controlled within the settings menu. This is for example useful for
tone control.

I wrote it because I decode AC3 over my Soundblaster Live! and I want to control
the volume without the help of 'lirc', 'irexec' and 'amixer. This solutions runs
to slow on my Pentium Pro 200.

The plugin was developed with VDR 1.3.23 and ALSA-Lib 1.0.9. The
compiler I used is g++ 3.3.5

Configuration:
--------------
At the setup menu select the mixers you want to control in the settings menu and
the controls that should be controled depending on the volume control of VDR. In
the settings menu you can set a offset to the volume of VDR in percent (0-100%).

If your VDR doesn't run as root, you need the permission to access the mixer
device. At most distributions you get this by adding vdr to the group 'audio'.
