1. Bevezetés

1.1. A dokumentum célja

Ha Conexant/Rockwell lapkakészletes modemed nem tudod beüzemelni, akkor jó
helyen jársz. Valószínûleg egy szoftveres modem (más néven winmodem) van a
birtokodban, ebben az esetben szükséged van egy megfelelõ eszközmeghajtóra,
hogy a modem Linux alatt is mûködjön.

Ha olyan szoftveres modemed van, amelynek a lapkakészletét nem a
Conexant/Rockwell gyártotta, akkor inkább a [25]linmodem HOWTO (Linmodem
HOGYAN) dokumentumot olvasd el. (Vagy a The [26]Winmodems-and-Linux HOWTO;
[27]Winmodemek és a Linux HOGYAN dokumentumot - a lektor)

Ez a dokumentum nem tartalmaz információt arról, hogyan kell használni a
Conexant/Rockwell alapú modemeket nem Linux operációs rendszerek alatt.
Jelenleg nincs ismert eszközmeghajtó FreeBSD és BeOS operációs rendszerre, a
Windows eszközmeghajtókat a Conexanttól lehet beszerezni.

1.2. Errõl a HOGYANról

Ez a HOGYAN eredetileg egy honlap volt, amely leírta, hogyan kell a Conexant
HSF modemet telepíteni Linux alatt. Alig néhány hónap alatt a weblap
látogatottsága nagyon megnõtt (a HOGYAN megírásának idejében 100 lekérés
naponta), valamint a kérdések is megsokasodtak a Conexant/Rockwell
modemekrõl a linmodem levelezési listán illetve különbözõ Usenet illetve
webes fórumokon. Ez késztetett arra az elhatározásra, hogy mindezt az
információt más formában kellene közzétenni, ami sokkal elérhetõbb az
érdeklõdõknek. Ennek az eredménye ez a HOGYAN, ami sokkal bõvebb lett
mint az eredeti weblap azért, hogy minden kérdést megválaszoljon, amely az
Interneten felmerült.

A Conexant/Rockwell modemek Linux alatti használatával kapcsolatos
információk iránti igények megnövekedésével egy idõben, számos nem angol
nyelvû, az eszközmeghajtók beállításáról szóló weblap is megjelent, még
olyan nyelveken is mint a portugál vagyió ami a japán. Ezekrõl a
weblapakról viszont gyakran hiányzott a legfrissebb információ, ami
megnehezítette a nem angol nyelvû felhasználók dolgát. Úgy döntöttem, hogy
ezt a HOGYANt a GNU FDL licenc alatt bocsátom ki, így más anyanyelvûek
lefordíthatják ezt a dokumentumot a saját nyelvükre és szabadon
terjeszthetik. Ily módon mindenkihez eljuthat az információ függetlenül
attól, milyen nyelvet beszél. Ha szeretnéd lefordítani ezt a HOGYANt, kérlek
keress meg.

(Természetesen magyarra már nem érdemes lefordítani. Ha van kedved fordítani
válassz egy másik HOGYANt, hogy minél több meglegyen magyarul. Jó kiindulási

Ez a HOGYAN feltételez némi alapvetõ Linux ismeretet. Feltételezi, hogy
tisztában vagy a konzol/terminál alapvetõ használatával, ismered a gyakrabb
parancsokat, mint például a "less", és ismersz valamilyen
szövegszerkesztõt. Amikor ez HOGYAN azt írja, hogy adj ki valamilyen
parancsot a konzolon, a konzol készenléti jel (prompt) így fog megjelenni:
"[user@localhost]$ "

A HOGYAN néhány része a Linux mélyebb ismeretét is feltételezi, de azok a
szakaszok fõleg azokra vonatkoznak, akik nem a gyakrabban elõforduló Linux
terjesztéseket használják.

2. Beüzemelési útmutató

Ez a rész megpróbál gyors segítséget adni, hogy minél gyorsabban beüzemeld
rendszered. Ha az alább leírtak mûködnek, akár el is felejtheted ennek a
HOGYANnak a hátralévõ részét. Ez a rész gyakrabban frissül mint a HOGYAN
többi része, tehát ez tartalmazza a legfrissebb információkat.

Legelõször azt kell megállapítanod, hogy HSF vagy HCF modemed van. Ezt a
következõ módokon teheted meg: megnézed a modemed windowosos
eszközmeghajtóját, megnézed a címkét a modem lapkakészletén, vagy letöltöd a
[43]ListModem segédprogramot, futtatod, és így szerzed meg az információt.
Mind a két típusra elérhetõk eszközmeghajtók, de a HSF meghajtó fejlettebb
mint a HCF. A HCF meghajtó elsõ bétája 2002 év közepén jelenik meg
várhatóan. A következõ fejezetekben mind a HSF, mind a HCF modem
beüzemelésérõl adunk egy rövid leírást.

2.1. A HSF modem beüzemelése

1. Töltsd le az eszközmeghajtót a [44]http://www.mbsi.ca/hsflinux/
webhelyrõl, a következõ útmutatás az RPM csomaghoz készült,
javaslom ezt használd.
2. Indíts el egy terminálablakot (vagy nyiss egy konzolt), válts root
felhasználóra és lépj abba a könyvtárba, ahová letöltötted az
eszközmeghajtót, majd gépeld be: rpm -i "eszközmeghajtó_neve".
Például, ha az eszközmeghajtó neve
hsflinmodem-4.06.06.02mbsibeta02012000-1.i586.rpm akkor a
következõt kell begépelni,
[user@localhost]$ rpm -i
hsflinmodem-4.06.06.02mbsibeta02012000-1.i586.rpm
3. Futtasd a hsfconfig programot, és kövesd a képernyõn megjelenõ
utasításokat. Automatikusan fel kell ismernie a modemedet, és
telepítenie kell az eszközmeghajtót. Ha valamilyen problémád
lenne, nézz bele az eszközmeghajtó dokumentációjába.

Most már be fogod tudni állítani az Internetkapcsolatot, bár meg kell
neki adni, hogy a modemed a /dev/modem könyvtár alatt található. Ha az
Internetkapcsolatot biztosító szoftvered nem tudja elérni, lehet, meg
kell változtatnod a jogosultságokat.

[Technikai megjegyzés: Ha a modemed eszközazonosítója (device ID)
2005, akkor a kézi beállítást kell választanod a beüzemeléshez.]

Ha a fenti eljárás nálad nem mûködne vagy a fent említett
eszközmeghajtó nem mûködik a rendszereden (például, ha
többprocesszoros géped van), akkor olvasd tovább ezt a HOGYANt, ezután
írjuk le részletesen, hogyan kell használni a régebbi eszközmeghajtót.

2.2. A HCF modem beüzemelése

1. Töltsd le az eszközmeghajtót a [45]http://www.mbsi.ca/hcflinux/
webhelyrõl. Az alábbi útmutató a bináris RPM meghajtóhoz készült,
amit a legkönnyebb telepíteni. Ha másként szeretnéd telepíteni,
akkor a README fájlban találhatsz hozzá információt.
2. Nyiss egy terminálablakot (vagy egy konzolt), válts root
felhasználóra, és lépj be abba a könyvtárba, ahová az
eszközmeghajtót letöltötted. Itt add ki az "rpm -i" parancsot,
megadve az eszközmeghajtó fájlnevét. Ha például az eszközmeghajtó
neve: hcflinmodem-0.9mbsibeta02030801-1.i586.rpm akkor a
következõt gépeled be:
[user@localhost]$ rpm -i
hcflinmodem-0.9mbsibeta02030801-1.i586.rpm
3. Futtasd a hcfconfig parancsot és kövesd a képernyõn megjelenõ
utasításokat, automatikusan fel kell ismernie a modemedet és
telepítenie kell az eszközmeghajtót. Ha valamilyen probléma
adódna, olvasd át az eszközmeghajtóhoz mellékelt dokumentációt.

Most már be kell tudnod állítani az Internetkapcsolatot, a beállítás
során meg kell adnod, hogy a modem a /dev/modem eszközként található
meg. Ha az Internetkapcsolatot biztosító szoftvered nem tudja elérni,
lehet, hogy meg kell változtatnod a jogosultságokat.

[Technikai megjegyzés: Ha régebbi a modemed például amin még Rockwell
márkajelzés van és nem Conexant, akkor jelenleg nem fogod tudni
használni ezt az eszközmeghajtót. Szintén nem lehet használni azokat a
modemeket, amelyek SmartDAA-t használnak. Olvasd el a

3. A modem típusának megállapítása

Elõször állapítsd meg, HCF vagy HSF lapkakészletû modemed van. Sajnos a
hagyományos módszerek (/proc/pci fájlrendszer használata, lspci parancs vagy
a KDE Control Center) itt nem mûködik a pci.ids fájlban lévõ hiba miatt,
ami a modem helytelen felismerését okozza. Háromféle módszert lehet
használni a lapkakészlet típusának megállapítására:

1. Ha a modemed Windows alatt is mûködik, töltsd le, és futtasd a
[47]Conexant-féle ListModem alkalmazást. A kívánt információt a
"MODEM TYPE" alatt jeleníti meg a program.
2. Ha felnyitod a géped, jó eséllyel meg fogod találni a modemed
lapkakészletén a HSF vagy a HCF jelzést.
3. Megállapítható a modem típusa az eszközazonosítóból és
gyártóazonosítóból is. Ezt az információt legkönnyebben az lspci
-n paranccsal (vagy régebbi Linux terjesztésekben a less /proc/pci
paranccsal) szerezheted meg. Ez a parancs listázza a gépben lévõ
összes PCI kártya eszköz- és gyártóazonosítóját. A modemed
azonosítóját úgy ismerheted fel, hogy 14F1 (Conexant) vagy 127A
(Rockwell) lesz a gyártóazonosító (vendorID). Ne vedd figyelembe
akár HSF-nek akár HCF-nek ismeri fel az lspci a modemed, mert ez
hibás is lehet.
Az információ általában a VVVV:DDDD formában jelenik meg, ahol
VVVV a gyártóazonosító, a DDDD pedig az eszközazonosító. Például,
ha 127a:2005 jelent meg, akkor ez azt jelenti, hogy a
gyártóazonosító kódja a 127a, míg az eszközazonosító a 2005.
Ha a modemed egy HCF modem, akkor a gyártóazonosítója az alábbiak
valamelyike lesz:
1033 / 1034 / 1035 / 1036 / 10b3 / 10b4 / 10b5 / 10b6 / 1003 /
1004 / 1005 / 1023 / 1024 / 1025 / 1f10 / 1f11 / 1f14 / 1f15
Ha a modemed SmartHCF modem, akkor az alábbiak közül fog kikerülni
a gyártóazonosító:
1052 / 1053 / 1054 / 1055 / 1056 / 1057 / 1058 / 1059 / 1063 /
1064 / 1065 / 1066
Ha HSF modemed van, akkor a gyártóazonosító az alábbiak lehetnek:
2013 / 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2003 / 2004 / 2005 / 2006 / 2f10 /

Ha pedig SmartHSF modemed van, akkor ezek fordulhatnak elõ
gyártóazonosítóként:

Ha HCF vagy SmartHCF modemed van, akkor ugorj a [48]"HCF

4. HCF lapkakészletû modemek

4.1. Áttekintés

Sajnos jelenleg nincs HCF eszközmeghajtó Linuxhoz. A Conexant GYIK
([50]http://www.conexant.com:80/cnxt/customer/md_faqs.htm) 11. pontjában
viszont jelezték, hogy fejlesztés alatt áll.

Többen ugyan jelezték, hogy sikerült a HCF lapkakészletû modemeiket (fõleg
az 1025-ös gyártóazonosítójú modelleket) beüzemelni a HSF meghajtóval, bár
minderrõl csak elvétve vannak információink. Ha sikerült beállítanod és
használnod egy HCF modemet Linux alatt, kérlek keress meg.

Valaki már közreadta, ha a "No Dialtone" hibaüzenetet kapjuk, amikor HSF
meghajtót használunk egy HCF modemmel, akkor a következõ AT paranccsal
lehet javítani a hibát: "AT S7=45 S0=0 L1 V1 X4 &c1 E1 Q0".

5. HSF lapkakészletû modemek

5.1. Áttekintés

A HSF meghajtó a semmibõl jelent meg 2000 közepén, amikor az Olitec
közzétett egy bináris meghajtót az Olitec PCI modemhez, a 2.2.14-es
rendszermaghoz. Nem sokkal ezután valaki rájött, hogy az Olitec modem a
Conexant/Rockwell HSF lapkakészletén alapul. Az érdeklõdõk az Olitec-tõl
megtudhatták, hogy a meghajtó bármilyen HSF lapkakészletû modemmel
mûködnie kellene, mert nem tartalmaz semmilyen Olitec specifikus elemet.
Sokan sikertelenül próbálkoztak, hogy beüzemeljék az Olitec eszközmeghajtót
nem Olitec modemmel, mígnem néhány hónappal késõbb, sok ember még több órás
próbálkozása után néhánynak sikerült eljutnia a megoldáshoz. Ez egy
egyszerû változtatás volt egy fájlban. Így a világ hozzájutott egy mûködõ
HSF meghajtóhoz, ami csak a 2.2.14-es rendszermagokon mûködött. Az Olitec
megtagadta a forrás közzétételét, hogy a közösség megpróbálja más verziójú
rendszermag alatt is mûködõképessé tenni.

Néhány hónappal késõbb az Olitec közzétette a meghajtót a 2.2.16 és a
2.2.17 verziójú rendszermagokhoz is, ami megelégedésére szolgált a HSF
winmodem közösségnek mindaddig, amíg egy napon meg nem jelent a 2.4-es
rendszermag. Egyik korábbi meghajtó sem mûködött a 2.4 rendszermag alatt és
ez problémát jelentett mindazoknak, akik frissíteni akartak az új
rendszermagra illetve mindazoknak a felhasználóknak, akik valamelyik 2.4.*
rendszermag-alapú terjesztést használták, mint például a Mandrake 8 és a
RedHat 7.1. A 2.4-es rendszermag megjelenése óta semmit nem lehet hallani az
Olitec háza tájáról, de idõközben a Conexant bejelentette, hogy tervezik
egy Linux eszközmeghajtó fejlesztését. Több hónapi várakozás után végülis
Marc Boucher elhatározta, hogy tesz valamit és írt egy illesztõfelületet,
ami lehetõvé teszi a régebbi eszközmeghajtókat használatát 2.4.*
rendszermagokkal is.

Itt tartunk jelenleg, Marc illesztõfelülete még mindig fejlesztõi
stádiumban van, de mûködik és sok ember használja, hogy Linux alatt az
Internetre kapcsolódjon.

Ezután az áttekintés után már érthetõ miért kell a következõ fejezetet két
részre bontani, egyik a 2.2.14 -2.2.18, míg a másik a 2.4.* rendszermagokról
szól. Ha nem tudnád milyen rendszermagod van, használd a "uname -r"
parancsot, mielõtt továbblépsz a HOGYAN megfelelõ részéhez.

5.2. Rendszermag 2.2.14 - 18

5.2.1. Követelmények

A 2.2.14, 2.2.16 vagy a 2.2.17 verziójú rendszermagok valamelyike. A 2.2.17
rendszermaghoz használatos eszközmeghajtó mûködik a 2.2.18-as
rendszermaggal is .

5.2.2. Azonosítók

A modem beüzemeléséhez tudnod kell a modem gyártóazonosítóját (Vendor ID) és
eszközazonosítóját (Device ID). A legkönnyebben ezt a "less /proc/pci"
parancs kiadásával teheted meg, és addig keress amíg meg nem találod azt a
PCI kártyát, amelynek a gyártóazonosítója vagy 14F1 (Conexant) vagy 127A
(Rockwell), majd jegyezd fel az eszközazonosítót.

A késõbbiekben szerkesztened kell egy %HSFModem% sort.

Másold ki a következõ sort valahová:

%HSFModem% = ModemX, PCI\VEN_XXXX&DEV_YYYY&SUBSYS_YYYYXXXX

ahol, az XXXX helyére a gyártóazonosító, az YYYY helyére padig az
eszközazonosító kerül. Például, ha a gyártóazonosítód 127A az
eszközazonosítód pedig 2015, akkor a sor a következõképp néz ki:

A késõbbiekben szükséged lesz erre a sorra, hogy a meghajtó fel tudja
ismerni a modemet. A következõ lépés kicsit eltérõ az egyes
rendszermag-verziók esetében, tehát lépj a vonatkozó fejezethez, attól
függõen, hogy [54]2.2.14, [55]2.2.16 vagy [56]2.2.17 verziójú rendszermagot
használsz.

5.2.3. Beállítás 2.2.14 rendszermaghoz

A HSF meghajtó telepítése 2.2.14-es rendszermaghoz
1. Töltsd le a HSF_V1.01.02_K2.2.14-5.0.tar fájlt, az [57]Olitec
webhelyérõl vagy a [58]tükrözésérõl.
2. Másold be a saját home könyvtáradba
3. Egy konzol ablakban lépj be a home könyvtáradba
[user@localhost]$ cd ~
4. Csomagold ki a fájlt
[user@localhost]$ tar xzvf HSF_V1.01.02_K2.2.14-5.0.tar
5. Lépj be az eszközmeghajtó könyvtárába
[user@localhost]$ cd pci_56k_v2
6. Kedvenc szövegszerkesztõddel nyisd meg a lin_hsf.inf file-t, a
[generic] rész alatt ehhez hasonló sorokat találsz: "%HSFModem% =

5.3. Beállítás 2.4.* rendszermagokhoz

5.3.1. Követelmények

* Olyan 2.4.* rendszermag-verzióra van szükséged, amiben nincs
többprocesszoros támogatás (SMP support).
* Továbbá szükséged lesz a rendszermag forrására, ha nincs telepítve
valószínûleg meg fogod találni a Linux-terjesztésedd CD-jén.
* A ppp legalább 2.4.0-es verziója (a telepített ppp verziója
ellenõrizhetõ a pppd --versionparanccsal.)

A modem 2.4.* rendszermag alatti mûködéséhez szükséged lesz a 2.2.17
rendszermaghoz használatos eszközmeghajtóra, valamint Marc Boucher
hsfcompat illesztõfelületére, ami lehetõvé teszi, hogy az
eszközmeghajtó a 2.4.* rendszermagok alatt is mûködjön. A HOGYAN
írásának idejében a hsfcompat 1.0d verziója a legfrissebb. Még teszt
állapotban van, tehát elõfordulhatnak problémák a rendszereden.
Viszont még nem találkoztam senkivel, akinek bármilyen problémája
származott volna abból, hogy használta ezt az illesztõfelületet. A
